A team of Taiwanese researchers have been granted a US patent for a new imprinting process for OLED production.
Details of the new production process has not been revealed, though in their application for the patent the authors state that it will allow large-area, full-colour, high colour rendering OLEDs to be produced. It will also overcome some of the shortcomings of existing vacuum evaporation, spin coating and injection printing production processes.
The group from the National Tsing Hua University in Hsinchu, Taiwan initially filed the patent in 2010.
